With its graceful, artistic lines, the rapier has always been a romantic symbol of the Renaissance. The reality is that the rapier is a very deadly hand-to-hand combat weapon, perfectly suited for the swift moves of the duelists of the day. Many hilt forms were tried early on like this three ringed swept hilt. The grip is bone, with a wire wrapping, making for a very secure grip. This is a light, fast and deadly sword with a classical design.
Includes leather scabbard.

Practical Rapier, 43" Blade (SH1098)
The Practical Rapier utilizes the popular
hilt from the 1027S-GT Rapier, modified to accommodate our SCA-approved
43" Schlager blade (see Model 1098-GT for the 37" length). The
tapered blade form provides superior balance compared to the
traditional parallel-sided schlagers of the same length, making for
a faster sword. The high-carbon steel blade provides good
flexibility and is button-tipped for safety.
